Colorful Fridays: Strawberry Bouquet

Anyone who knows me knows my soft spot for strawberries! Everything from fresh strawberries to artificially flavored strawberry confections; I can't get enough of that gorgeous red tastiness. And I have to say, I'm EXTREMELY tempted to decide right here and now to make this strawberry bouquet for my own wedding!

(via little winter bride: strawberry bouquet)
(so pretty)

Yes, I can see it now -- strawberries everywhere. All the decor, centerpieces, cake... and best of all, you can eat all of it afterward. Can't get much more green than that!

What other fruits or veggies do you think would make a great theme?

10 Dollar Date

I'm very excited to announce that I will be co-authoring a new blog with my friend Tammi, and we just went live! 10 Dollar Date will be about romance on a shoestring, covering tips and ideas for making dates without breaking the bank. $10 is a target, since the idea is about being frugal without being cheap and not sacrificing that lovin' feeling.

Please give us a gander over at 10 Dollar Date and keep checking back while it grows! If you have any ideas or suggestions, please send them to 10dollardates [at] gmail [dot] com!

A Dream Come True

You've heard of A Dream Wedding by Sharon Cole? She and her team have been chosen by TheKnot.com as their pick for Best Wedding Planner for San Diego three years running. And guess what? I just got the green light to work with Sharon Cole herself tomorrow night! I'm super excited and a little bit nervous... ok, a lot of bit nervous, but I'm totally stoked about it.

Colorful Fridays: Plastic Bottle Redux

This is downstream from Linda Permann over at CraftStylish, who shared these amazing lamps by Sarah Turner.

Can you believe those used to be plastic drinking water bottles?? Yeah, me neither. They are sand-blasted then screwed into the inner shade (which is recycled card) and finally secured with their own bottle tops!

You could knock out your centerpiece and lighting requirements in a 2-for-1 with these sturdy yet dainty looking numbers. Too bad you can't walk in any place in the US to find these eco-friendly lamps, but you can order them from the Sarah Turner website!

Cute Bottle Openers

I should start using a tag called "Jo finds the most amazing stuff," because I visit her blog just about every single day and honestly envy her ability to find and share... well, amazing stuff. Although credit for this particular goes to I *Heart* You, which I also heart.

These also come in shark, apple, duck, snake, and more! I'm really fond of the ox one myself, since I was born in the year of the Ox, and I*Heart*You suggested the apple as a end-of-the-year gift for a teacher! Brilliant.

Colorful Fridays: We All Scream...

...for ice cream cone decor/favors! This week's post comes from Robyn at Mix Mingle Glow, who shared this creative idea for using Crayola Model Magic (which is a clay-like molding "play dough") to fill cups found at the Dollar Tree!

Just make sure no one actually tries to eat the ice cream, tasty and life-like as it may look.

Chicken Soup for the Soul

I remember when this series first came out and the touching stories that made it a great read. When it became a series, the Chicken Soup for the College Soup became the one that made the most sense to me. Now, I'm finding out there is a Chicken Soup for the Bride's Soul.

Excellent gift for the bride who is about to tear her hair out from all the wedding planning.

Colorful Fridays: Glitter and Glue

This caught my eye at the Bridal Bazaar last weekend. Unfortunately, I didn't jot down the name of the designer who did this table but look at these!

Glitter glue + sequins = Hello, simple and classy way to dress up bulk-purchased votive candle holders (ahem, like those you can get on Cudge hint hint). On top of that, it becomes super easy to customize according to color scheme and add variety to your set of 72 clear glass candle holders.

Black and red was featured here but what about black and white, or varying shades of green or blue? A quick search at Michael's revealed a set of Crayola glitter glue that covers 16 different colors.

And just for a touch of green, the "candles" inside these particular ones were LED lights. A good way to cut down on the cost and hassle of candles, plus reusable for future events!

Birds of a Feather

Goodness me if I can go one week without finding myself on etsy. Mackenzie, over at Something Old, Something New, shared these adorable cake toppers from Red Light Studio on etsy.

Also comes in an owl option and custom orders!
